Richard Martin will present the story of a forgotten technology that could solve the global energy crisis and provide the world with cheap power for thousands of years.Thorium is a radioactive element that is four times as abundant as uranium and about as common as lead; scoop up a few ounces of sand on certain beaches on the coast of India, and you'll have enough Thorium to power Mumbai for a year. What's more it is more efficient than uranium, clean, safe and unsuitable for use in nuclear weapons.
And that is exactly why most of us have never heard of it. That is until now...
The presentation will be followed by drinks in the Baker Building reception area.
